Wow, what a day yesterday learning from the brilliant Stefan Thomas on how to really make the most of online and offline networking and to feel confident approaching people.
I was engaged for every second of the session, as Stefan delivers the topic with such warmth and energy. Some of my key takeaways: 💡 Prep: prepare a 60-second introduction - it helps give you something to say when you're asked to stand up and tell everyone about yourself including what you do, why you do it, and a call to action.
You can also create a less formal version for when you're chatting to people in the room.
Love this! ❤️
Looking forward to this!

We’ve launched 🚀 but why? 🥺 If you missed my previous post about this, here’s a little share of WHY ookkeeversity exists, for me personally.
I’ve been where so many sole traders are right now.
🫠 I’ve genuinely panicked through last-minute tax filings.
🫠 I’ve genuinely opened (and not opened) letters I didn’t understand which spun me into huge overwhelm.
🫠 I’ve stared at numbers, trying to guess what to do.
🫠 I’ve relied on Google before submissions and hoped for the best (usually at 11:48pm with a glass of wine in hand).
We’re offering 10% off for our founding members for the first 6 months. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ed7TUZFE
If you’re a sole trader who’s ever felt a bit lost in the finance world, we made this for you.
The other day I overheard a so-called LinkedIn expert say something and it was a major red flag 🚩
I was at one of my events and I heard them say:
“Commenting on posts is a waste of time.”
Excuse me?
That’s like saying talking to people at a networking event is pointless.
Like showing up and standing silently in the corner. Good luck with that.
Here’s the truth:
Commenting is networking 🔚
It’s visibility.
It’s relationship-building.
It’s respect.
You don’t grow on LinkedIn by posting and ghosting… 👻
You grow by showing up. Commenting. And adding value with what you’ve got to say.
I’ve built real connections. Real opportunities. Just by being active in comments.
No pitches. No BS. Just showing up consistently with purpose.
So yeah, comment. Often. Meaningfully. Strategically.
Because lurking gets you nowhere.
Engagement is the game.
Do you agree? Disagree? Let’s hear it. Drop your thoughts below on commenting. Is it really a waste of time? 👇🏼
